Design Status
Maple Harvest Wind is a proposed wind farm in Onondaga County, New York. Meteorological towers were installed in Otisco in 2023 to collect atmospheric data. The data from those towers will inform the project’s design and feasibility and aid with its design.

Permit Process
New York permits large renewable (+25 MW) projects via ORES and the 94-C process
The review process includes pre-application, application, and operational requirements
Includes requirements for local meetings, review of local rules, and funding for local participation
Notice requirements, including newspaper, residences within 5 miles, and members in state legislature who represent project district(s)
Federal permitting may include:
US Army Corps of Engineers
Federal Aviation Administration (and other groups that use air space)
US Fish and Wildlife
Energy generation projects in New York require the approval of NY-ISO

Pre-Application
Community meetings
Consultation meetings with local municipalities, school districts, utilities, and local emergency responders
Visual resource consultation with municipal planning representatives
Historic resource consultation with local historic preservation groups
Post-Application Filing
The Applicant will fund a local agency account ($1,000 per MW) to facilitate participation of community intervenors, including municipalities, in the public comment and adjudicatory process
60-day public comment period after the draft permit is issued
